Dear Marc,
Cyps normally survive even when they lose their shoot at an early stage. The only precondition is a healthy rhizome. However they will fall back to the stage of a young plant, approx. 2 years from flowering. So next year's growth will be very small.
Cut off the shoots if they should die completely to avoid a fungus attack on the rhizome.
