In recent years a large Cypripedium designated simply as "large C. farreri" has appeared in the trade which appears to have hybrid ancestory to it's wild origins. C. Yi in personal communication indicated that this was likely a naturally occurring cross between fasciolatum and farreri. This seems to be a well founded observation given it's propensity to display traits of both parents from an area where both species occur conspecifically. My question: has this hybrid been previously noted in the wild and named in literature, and if so, what is that name. Any other pertinent comments appreciated.
