Unfortunately plants that come from China are not artificially propagated at the present time but they may be held in captivity until they are exported which is not the same thing at all. There is a real need for the Chinese to set up an orchid nursery selling micropropagated Cypripedium plants to the west but at present that is just a dream and wild populations get smaller and smaller each year.

I hope your plant thrives so it can produce many seeds for propagation purposes. If these are then available to growers cheaply there is no need to import more wild plants each year - and no profit in it either!
