Antwort auf: Cyp. californicum - leaf blacking von Barry Tattersall am 05 Oktober, 2001 um 18:25:19:
The problem seems to be a lack of heat (possibly not enough sun) and a lack of moisture. Too much moisture without heat will produce the blackening as will too much heat without moisture. It grows here well and fine silt is part of the ingredients in a moist sunny location. My experience with californicum in particular is that it likes it sunny, very warm, but also moist. These are difficult conditions to get unless in a seep which is often where they grow naturally. In the Siskiyous it gets very hot!! Early black leaves on Cyps usually indicate to me, moist conditions with not enough light. Passerinum and guttatum also suffer from this and it is a delicate balance to get it right.
