The rarest and most desirable of all the American Cyps, these
Cyp. kentuckiense are thriving in my Northern Ohio, USA bog
gardens. They bloom a full two weeks after pubescens and
parviflorum and grow in the same sandy, peaty mix. The form below
is the most choice of the species. It has a large, creamy yellow
pouch 3" long and 1.5" wide (7.5 cm x 4 cm). The sepals
are dark maroon. Petals are longer than type...they are a full 5
inches long (13 cm)! This is truly an incredible plant! Its
increases in flower steadily each year...
