Just treat the rotted area of the stem with the peroxide. Just dab it on straight from the bottle with a Q-Tip and then rinse the plant. As Anthony mentioned, don't use peat moss. First of all, it's too acid for x andrewsii and it does decompose fast and encourage rot. It should come back next year however it won't bloom for a year or two.
