I have to agree with Uta about this. Cyps are not warmth loving plants. I grow them (or at least try to) because I am hopelessly addicted to them. Sometimes I wonder about my sanity considering that the flowers last only a couple weeks out of a whole year.

Other genera are much more forgiving about the heat. Ones native to Japan that thrive in hot weather include most Calanthe species, Ponerorchis graminifolia, Amitostigma species, Epipactis thunbergia, Goodyera species, Liparis species, Pecteilis radiata, and the list goes on and on! Enjoy your orchid journey.
