Culture of Cyps in pots is absolutely possible. There are just a few species (like reginae, formosanum and japonicum) that I would not cultivate in pots for a long time as they tend to grow quite big and want more space than a normal pot can give them. I have cultivated most of my Cyps in pots, the problem is how to overwinter them. You don't want them to freeze and thaw and freeze and thaw, but that is exactly what happens around here if you keep them outside. Pots are much more subject to temperature changes than big beds. The ideal place would be a very cool cellar (with temperatures between 0°C and 5°C all winter). But remember: The plants will either start growth too early at temperatures over 5°C or they won't start growth at all if they don't have 3 month below 5°C. So a greenhouse with high day temperatures will not be any good.
