Sometime ago there was a request on the forum for a picture of Cyp. 'Axel', the cross between parviflorum and tibeticum. Two seedlings I bred have just flowered so I am posting a picture for general interest. This type is much brighter than the one featured on Werner Frosch's excellent web site so I guess the offspring are influenced by which colour form of tibeticum was selected as the parent. I used pollen from a middle of the range tibeticum, not a bright red but not dark maroon either. I think with further selection of colour forms this will be an excellent plant to have. Certainly the seedlings have performed well.
