Using native orchids

I appreciate the enthusiasm that the people on this forum share for Cypripediums. I think growers should use native Cypripediums instead of introducing exotic species, as they could potentially escape cultivation. The same applies to unnatural hybrids, which could also escape and/or backcross with their wild relatives. The backcrossing of hybrids with native species could, in time, genetically swamp indigenous species.
