Hi Keri,

There is a slight chance that the plant develops a new (much smaller) shoot from reserve buds on the older parts of the rhizome. However the new shoot will be much smaller and the plant set back to seedling stage. Don't expect a flower for the next 2 or 3 years in the best case!

Much patience is needed.
